چکیده

This paper develops a fully automatic tool for the denoising of partial discharge (PD) signals occurring in electrical power networks and recorded on-site measurements. The proposed method is based on spectral decomposition PD measured signal via joint application short-time Fourier transform singular value decomposition. estimated noiseless reconstructed clever selection dominant contributions, which allows us to filter out different spurious components, including white noise discrete spectrum noise. offers viable solution can be easily integrated within measurement apparatus, with unavoidable beneficial effects detection important parameters localization. performance first demonstrated synthetic test then it applied real data. A cross comparison other state-of-the-art alternatives included study.

An Ultrahigh Frequency Partial Discharge Signal De-Noising Method Based on a Generalized S-Transform and Module Time-Frequency Matrix

Due to electromagnetic interference in power substations, the partial discharge (PD) signals detected by ultrahigh frequency (UHF) antenna sensors often contain various background noises, which may hamper high voltage apparatus fault diagnosis and localization. This paper proposes a novel de-noising method based on the generalized S-transform and module time-frequency matrix to suppress noise i...

Survey of De-noising Techniques for Partial Discharge Interferences

Partial Discharges (PD) are recognized as one of the main causes of degradation of internal insulation of power equipment and its subsequent failure in high voltage equipment. In most real-time applications such as extruded cables, Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) etc., polymeric insulation systems which invariably used. It is necessary and demand to detect even very low levels of PD pulse disch...

Muzzle Blast Detection via Short Time Fourier Transform

A projectile's trajectory can be estimated by measuring the arrival times of the acoustic energy at several locations in space. In case of a supersonic projectile fired from a gun, both the acoustic shockwave and muzzle blast can be observed. For acoustic sensor networks attempting to determine the trajectory, the challenge is to first, correctly classify the transient signal as either a shockw...

De-Noising of Short-Period Seismograms by Wavelet Packet Transform

The wavelet packet transform gives information in both the time and frequency domains, and it is very useful for describing nonstationary signals like seismograms. Moreover, this structure is dependent on the signal under study; hence we can choose the time–frequency decomposition more appropriate for every signal. In this article, we propose a new method for filtering based on the wavelet pack...

Wavelet Transform for De - Noising and Enhancement

This paper describes an approach for accomplishing sub-octave wavelet analysis and its discrete implementation for noise reduction and feature enhancement. Sub-octave wavelet transforms allow us to more closely characterize features within distinct frequency bands. By dividing each octave into sub-octave components, we demonstrate a superior ability to capture transient activities in a signal o...
